Meet my crew of AI helpers (Dad still says yes to everything)

the crew, on duty
market bot, caption bot, paperwork bot

The Lab got busy this summer. Markets to apply for, posts to write every day, insurance words to read, a website to keep working. I am one kid. I also have homework.

So Dad and I built a crew.

What "agentic AI" actually means

Most AI just talks. You ask it something, it answers, that is it. An agentic AI can actually do things: open a file, fill out a form, write a draft, check a date against a deadline. Mine run inside something called a harness, which is just the toolbelt that lets a robot brain reach out and touch the real world instead of only chatting about it.

I have a few of these helpers now. One watches the market calendar and flags deadlines before they sneak up on us. One drafts my Instagram captions and keeps the posting queue straight. One keeps the paperwork checklist honest: licenses, insurance, sales tax. One keeps score against the seven year plan Dad and I wrote for the business.

Grok, the second opinion

Grok, checking our homework

I also have an outside helper named Grok that does not work on anything day to day. Its only job is to poke holes in our plan. Is this number too optimistic? Did we forget something a real toy company would need? It is the annoying friend who asks "wait, are you sure?" and I am glad it is on the team.

The one rule

Here is the part that matters most: none of them can actually publish anything, spend any money, or make any promise without Dad or me saying yes first. Every post waits for approval. Every decision gets written down with the reason behind it, so we can look back and see why we chose what we chose. The crew does the digging and the drafting. I still do the deciding.

A robot does not know what six sold toys and one sleepless night feels like. I do.

So the crew hands me the draft, and I am the one who says "yeah, that sounds like me" or "nope, try again."

Why I am telling you this

Because I think it is cool, and because I would rather you hear it from me than wonder. The toys are still mine. The dragons, the ideas, the stall on a Saturday, the six sold toys that kept me up that first night. That part never changes. The crew just means the paperwork gets done faster so I have more time to invent.

You imagine it. My Lab builds it. Now I have some help making sure it actually ships on time.

Howdy. See you at the next market.
